Society of News Design Conference
Just arrived in Argentina, for the Society of News Design annual conference in Buenos Aires. It’s a beautiful (if a little chilly) sunny day. Just could not resist this sculpture. It’s right outside the place where the conference is to be held, starting tomorrow.
Coming to argentina reminds me that I forgot to blog (or bloog) about the blueness of sports surfaces that i have noticed this year, so here are some pictures from the amazing brazilian usain bolt’s runs at the recent berlin world games, and also pictures from the us open in new york, where an Argentine, Juan Martin del Potro, confounded all the pundits to beat roger federer in the final (and rafael nadal on the way). It’s the first time an Argentine has won the us open since Guillermo Vilas in 1977. (as of this writing, that’s 32 years, or one billion seconds ago).
first usain bolt’s two world records:
here are a couple of US Open pix. when did running tracks and tennis courts go blue? how could i miss that?
